Simplify Your Life… Save time and money with Amazon Subscribe and Save
On a typical weekday, like most teacher moms you make it home in time to make dinner. Making time to run to the grocery store can seem impossible. Let alone taking the time to go to the grocery store AND a warehouse store to get good deals on bulk items. Using Amazon’s Subscribe and Save program helps eliminate the need to make multiple stops.
Another benefit over a warehouse store is that some items come in small packages instead of bulk. So instead of having to store large amounts of items you get a small delivery once a month.
AWESOME DEALS
Each time I add a new item to our Subscribe and Save order I compare the price to our local grocery store. Most times the item is cheaper on Amazon. Even if the item is more expensive think about ordering it just for the convenience of home delivery.
Baby Items
Diapers are the item that led me to Amazon Subscribe and Save. Instead of the typical 15% off you get 20% off diapers. They also have most brands of diapers. We first started with Earth’s Best Diapers. I liked that they were natural and environmentally conscious. We also tried Pampers Sensitive Diapers. We ultimately went with Amazon’s own brand Mama Bear Diapers. Our kiddos have sensitive skin and they have both done great with these. Plus until size 4 one box lasted us a whole month (each box contains 4 packages of diapers). Now at size 4 we need to order 2 boxes most months. They’re also cheaper per diaper than the other brands and we rarely have blowouts.
Wipes are another baby item that you can get 20% off. We also tried a few different brands of wipes. I loved the size of Bloom Baby Wipes and how few ingredients are used. But they could be hard to get out of the package. We are currently using the Amazon Elements Baby Wipes, Sensitive. We love how they dispense and the hard plastic top clicks closed and keeps in the moisture.
Infant Motrin is always good to have on hand in case of a fever, teething, etc. We like the dye-free Motrin.
Boogie Wipes are the baby item I swore I wouldn’t buy before I became a mom. Now they are a must-have item for cold and flu season. The Unscented Boogie Wipes can be a lifesaver.
Household Supplies
Household supplies are great items to purchase and keep in stock. As a teacher mom having a reserve of household supplies makes life a lot less complicated.
Amazon Subscribe and Save offers such a large variety of supplies you can almost always find your go-to brand or even a new brand that fits your needs.

Pantry Staples
Prepackaged pantry staples are often the most expensive items on a grocery list. Through Amazon Subscribe and Save you can often find hard to get healthy options at a good price. These items can be the ones that tend to come and go so watch your order. They often do have a suitable replacement item.
Below are some of our family favorites:
Snack Foods– Some days you need easy to grab and go snacks. It’s nice to have a steady supply of our favorites. I love these kind bars as a quick snack at school. They give me the protein I need and many of the varieties are low carb. My husband wants chips to go with his lunch and we’ve found this is the best way to get a variety pack. By getting snack foods this way you can get a bigger batch and reduce the price you pay per item.
Candy– This bag of M&Ms is a much better deal than individual bags at the gas station or even at the grocery check out. Having chocolate around is never a bad idea.
Coffee– If you’re a teacher mom that needs your daily dose of caffeine… Then add coffee to your Subscribe and Save order. You’ll appreciate having a consistent supply.
How to Use Amazon Subscribe and Save
The process of using Amazon Subscribe and Save is pretty simple. If you want to get 20% off diapers, baby food, wipes, and more you will need to have a Prime Membership. Otherwise, you can save up to 15% when you have an order of 5 or more products in one month.
On their website, you can search for or find Subscribe and Save in the menu. (You can also click here.) There you can read more about the program and begin searching for items of interest. You need at least 5 items each month to get better deals. Once you choose an item, select how many you need and then schedule how frequently you want that item delivered. You can schedule products monthly to every six months.
Before each delivery, they send you an email to remind you what’s in your order each month. It also shows the current price of each product (some product prices decrease and increase from month to month). You can adjust your delivery by skipping or canceling items at the page Manage Your Subscriptions. Need more information? Head over to Amazon’s Subscribe and Save Information page.
Amazon Subscribe and Save Tips and Tricks
- ALWAYS check your order when you get the reminder email. Especially as you add more items. We forgot one month and end up with way more than we needed. Inventory what you have and use the skip or cancel as needed. If you need an item sooner you can also move items up.
- Watch for price changes. As prices change on products some products may no longer be a great deal using subscribe and save. This can be especially true if you got a coupon for your first purchase.
- If you use a budgeting program and record your purchases. They charge each item in a subscribe and save order separately. This can make reconciling a bit of a search and find. Make sure to look at the final/total price on a product versus the list price.
- Our subscribe and save order has always come on time and even early. However, if you have a late delivery you can always request a late delivery refund. If you don’t want to keep track of it yourself you can use a program like Paribus.
- Some items come and go seasonally or for other reasons. For a while, we couldn’t get our order of peanut butter M&Ms during the summer. Now they send them with an ice pack to keep them from melting. If an item is no longer available they try to offer you alternatives.
Ordering items this way can take some time to get used to. In the end, it will be worth it when it saves your teacher mom brain sanity. Just for the diapers and wipes alone Amazon Subscribe and Save saves you time and money. Ready to check it out? Sign up today!
